Sioux Falls Native Shayna Baszler Engages In a Lightsaber Battle

In no other universe will you see a lightsaber battle between Darth Vader and Waldo.

But this is the NXT Universe, where a battle between the leader of the Empire and the tough to find traveler is just another weekend.

Vader was played by Mae Young Classic finalist Shayna Baszler while Rudy Riot hoped to blend in as Waldo. While Riot showed off impressive saber skills, Baszler’s mastery was too much to overmatch. Perhaps if it was a battle of walking sticks, Riot would have stood a better chance.

Baszler attempted to save Riot from elimination, and while it’s not shown on video, Baszler did win the 15-woman Halloween battle royal.

Other participants included Nikki Cross as No Way Jose, Sonya Deville as Leonard the Ninja Turtle, and Rhea Ripley and Lacey Evans as the Street Profits. The live event was held in Sanford, Florida.
