Ever wanted to own your very own music venue? Better head over to eBay, and bid on Austin, Texas’ The Parish.
Texan venue The Parish, located in the musical hotbed of Austin, is being sold on the auctioneering site by its owners, ATX Brands. Over the years, the venue’s played host to artists including Pete Townshend, Slash, Perry Farrell, Thom Yorke, Alt-J and many more.
As Billboard report, the buyer will gain a 12 year lease of the building, which includes two large bars and green rooms, a private office, all venue furniture, and an HD projector and screen.
A 5,300-square-foot, 425-capacity venue, The Parish is all booked up through next year, too, so you won’t even have to worry about filling the calendar. Bidding stars at just $1, but an undisclosed reserve price will have to be reached to trigger the auction.
ATX Brands CEO Doug Guller told Billboard: “Hopefully it’s a person or persons who are in the industry that can afford a venue like The Parish and can take it to the next level. I love the Austin music scene and have been the owner of the Parish for the last eight years. Here’s an opportunity for someone that is a true lover of music to buy what is arguably the best venue of its size in the country.”
It’s not the first time a musical institution has been put up on eBay – back in 2013, a man sold an entire London record store (and its contents) on the auction site.
