Night Shield Nominated For 3 Native American Music Awards

When the nominees for The 19th Annual Native American Music Awards were recently announced, Sioux Falls Native Gabriel Night Shield found himself as the leading Hip Hop artist for the year with 3 total nominations. Night Shield is nominated in the Best Hip Hop/R&B Recording for his 7th album, SAVivor. The album’s, produced by Mike Dresch, title track found itself being the only Hip Hop song nominated in the Song Of The Year. This is Night Shield’s 3rd nomination falling into the Best Hip Hop Music Video category for the song “Reckless” featuring Trey Lane, CrimeSpree & Gorilla Pimp.

Night Shield has been a prominent contributor to the South Dakota Hip Hop community for almost 20 years and has previously won 3 Native American Music Awards for past releases. Night Shield has spent the last year touring and promoting his latest release, “SAVivor”, and has shared the stage with such notable Hip Hop acts as Nelly, Tech N9ne, Bone Thugs N Harmony & Snow Tha Product. Night Shield was also featured in the recently released coloring book “Indigenous Legends II” by 1491 Publishing.

This years awards ceremony will be held on November 2nd in Niagara, NY at the Seneca Niagara Casino and will be hosted by Oscar Award Winning Actor Wes Studi and the WWE’s Mickie James.
