10 Songs to Motivate You During Finals Week – In our defense, this list was curated by the Daily Collegiate. Did they miss any? Or did they get it all wrong?

“Move Along” by The All-American Rejects

The chorus for this song is the perfect pep talk.

“When all you got to keep is strong/ Move along, move along like I know you do/ And even when your hope is gone/ Move along, move along just to make it through.” Give this song a listen if you’re feeling all hope is lost.

“Raise Your Glass” by P!nk

Exams might have you going through the five stages of grief (denial is definitely a key appearance) but at one point, letting go and accepting is the best step yet.

P!nk’s “Don’t be fancy, just get dancey/Why so serious?/ So raise your glass if you are wrong/ In all the right ways” is a proper perspective for those who know they got those answers all wrong, but try to convince the professor it’s all in the “right way.”

“Shot At The Night” by The Killers

“Draw me a lifeline…I got nothing to lose.” Yes. Definitely. During exams, every life line is needed. There’s honestly nothing to lose.

“Bodak Yellow” by Cardi B

This song is sweeping and dominating all playlists — even the supermarkets. A great song that makes you feel like you own the world, let Cardi B bring that spunk and power back into your eyes even when there’s bags underneath them from all the studying.

“All Star” by Smash Mouth

“Only shooting stars break the mold.” Well said, Smash Mouth, well said.

Let this song shower you in all your stardom and suave swagger, as exams and finals week got nothing on you.

A feel-good song, it’ll never get old. If it’s good enough for Shrek, it’s good enough for Penn State!

“Young Dumb & Broke” by Khalid

If those three adjectives don’t define you during exams, well, kudos to you. But if you feel they do apply, then listen to this majestic, carefree song that will help you realize, you’re not alone…in being young, dumb and broke.

“Some Nights” by Fun.

Sometimes, the best motivation comes from listening to meaningful songs with an upbeat tempo.

While staying up late, listen to Fun’s lyrics that honestly remind you you’re not alone in having existential crises at night. “But I still wake up, I still see your ghost/ Oh Lord, I’m still not sure, what I stand for” is definitely the lyric of a song you know will deliver when it comes to being in pain, together.

“Roses” by the Chainsmokers

Looking for something slower? A good, chill song like this one will do the trick. It’s good to just wind down sometimes and relax the brain during a study break.

“Work This Body” by Walk the Moon

Work this body over textbooks and study groups — you got this. Walk the Moon knows how to motivate you to the “nth degree” with lyrics like “And I will work this body, I will burn this flame/ Oh, in the dead of night, and in the pouring rain/Yeah, I’m a workaholic and I swear, I swear/ Yeah, one day I will beat you fair and square.”

“I Love It” by Icona Pop (feat. Charli XCX)

An oldie but goodie, this song releases a sort of endorphin called, “I don’t care about anything anymore, really!”

If you pretend like the anger of this song is directed at exams, then according to Icona Pop and Charli, those paper-filled demons are “on a different road” now and you’re “on the Milky Way.”
